Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
This page explains how Intent Amplifier uses cookies and similar browser storage on the website at intentamplifier.com, the dashboard, and the extension. It is part of our Privacy Policy. The short version: we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking. The small amount of storage we use is there to make the site work, remember your choices, and make repeat visits faster.
What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a tiny text file a website can save in your browser and read back later. Local storage is a similar browser feature that holds a bit more data and is not sent with every request. Both let a site remember small things between page loads, like a setting you picked. We use whichever is the better fit for each job, and we describe them together here as "storage".
The honest summary
- No ad cookies. No tracking pixels. We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other websites.
- Strictly necessary storage always runs so pages load and your dashboard sign-in works.
- Preference and performance storage only run if you allow them in the cookie banner or in Cookie settings, where each category has its own switch. You can change your mind anytime.
- The dashboard is the exception. It records how it is used for everyone who uses it, without asking through the banner, as described in the Privacy Policy. It does this with an ID held in the open page, not a tracking cookie, and it never follows you to other websites.
- You can clear everything from your browser settings whenever you like.
The categories we use
1. Strictly necessary. Needed for the site and dashboard to function, and for the site to remember your cookie choice. These run without asking because the site cannot work properly without them. They set no marketing data.
2. Preferences. Remember choices you make, such as your theme, so the site feels the same next time. Optional, and only used after you accept.
3. Performance. Briefly cache content the site has already fetched (such as the latest updates and blog posts) so repeat visits paint faster and lean less on the server. This is what improves speed and quality on return visits. Optional, and only used after you accept.
What each item does
| Name | Category | What it is for | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ia_cookie_consent |
Necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional storage, so we do not ask again on every visit. | 12 months |
ia_pref_* |
Preference | Remembers display choices like your theme so the site looks consistent to you. | Until cleared |
ia_cache_* |
Performance | Short-lived cache of content already loaded (changelog and blog posts) so return visits are faster and the backend does less work. | Up to 1 hour |
| Dashboard usage session ID | Always on (dashboard) | A random ID the dashboard holds in the open page for one visit, so we can tell which parts of it are being used. It is not stored as a cookie, it runs for everyone who uses the dashboard under our legitimate interest in understanding how the dashboard is used, and the cookie choice on this website does not switch it off. When you are signed in, the visit is linked to your account. It never includes anything you wrote in a prompt. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is recorded. | The visit |
Dashboard sign-in token (ia_at, ia_rt) |
Necessary | Keeps you signed in on the dashboard after you log in with an email code. Only set if you sign in. | Until you sign out or it expires |
| Extension settings and install ID | Necessary | Stored by the browser extension (not the website) to hold your toggles and a random, non-personal install ID so the extension can work and remember your preferences. | Until you clear it or remove the extension |
Names and durations may be adjusted as the product evolves; the categories and purposes above are the reliable guide to what we do.
Your choices
When you first visit, a small banner lets you Accept everything optional, Decline everything optional, or open Cookie settings to decide category by category. In Cookie settings you get a switch for Preferences and a switch for Performance, so you can turn one on and leave the other off. Strictly necessary storage is always on and cannot be switched off, because the site cannot work properly without it.
You can change your choice at any time by opening , or by clearing your browser's site data. If you switch a category off after it was on, we delete that category's stored data straight away. The site still works fully if you decline everything optional; it just will not remember optional preferences or cache content for speed.
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage directly in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this per site or across the board. Note that blocking strictly necessary storage may stop parts of the site or dashboard from working.
Third-party requests
Loading a page fetches fonts from Google Fonts, and the dynamic pages (changelog, blog) call our own backend. These requests are part of delivering the page and are not advertising trackers. The providers see a standard web request, including your IP address, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Do Not Track
Because we do not track you across sites in the first place, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" signal to switch off here. We honor the choice you make in the cookie banner regardless.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the "Last updated" date above and note it on the changelog. Questions? Reach us through the contact page. See also the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.
